The CoffeeBoy Review

The Coral Gables original that's been grinding organic single-origins on Giralda Plaza since 2008.

The Story

Pasion del Cielo has been a Gables institution since 2008, founded by Fernando Salinas. It grew from this first Coral Gables shop into a small regional chain — Dadeland, Midtown, Lincoln Road, Coconut Grove, Brickell — but this original on Giralda Plaza is still the one with the soul. They carry around 11 organic single-origin beans with an in-store chart mapping aroma, flavor, body, and acidity, and they grind your beans fresh in front of you with a country-of-origin and flavor board.

What to Order

The Cinasugar Latte is the CoffeeBoy pick — the cinnamon-sugar signature that's quietly the best menu item. It's the drink regulars order and visitors never find on the first trip.

The Latte is the classic, and with 11 single-origins to choose from, you can taste your way through South America. The Cortadito — evaporated milk, the Miami way — is a two-dollar masterclass. And the Beef Baked Empanada is flaky, golden, and deserves two.

The Experience

Let's be honest about the workability: the wifi is decent (30 Mbps tested) and outlets are limited. Pasion del Cielo is a coffee-and-people-watching spot, not a coworking space. The atmosphere genuinely invites you to stay — it's warm, European, and the Giralda Plaza pedestrian walk is one of the best people-watching locations in the city.

There's a rotating "artist of the month" and the prices are unbeatable for the quality — a latte for $3.25 in 2026 is essentially a public service. Come for the coffee, stay for the plaza, and don't plan a full workday.

The Verdict

Great beans, unbeatable prices, and a Giralda Plaza location that's impossible not to love. Pasion del Cielo is a coffee destination, not a laptop destination — and that's exactly what it should be.
